But here’s how to flip it around and see it as a positive (as hard as that can be in the moment).

As you get in front of more people, there will inevitably be a higher percentage that have personal issues…
And you can BET that they will project all of their problems onto you!
It’s a numbers game and it’s part and parcel of having a following.
All it really means is that you have more eyes watching you.
In fact, it actually has zero to do with you.
I found this out a few thousand followers in. And I’ve received all kinds of hate messages. Just watch the video on this page to see.
If ever I read a hate message today, I don’t take it on.
In fact, I see it as a positive… It means I have something to say and people are listening.
But if you’re someone who’s going through a stage where maybe you’ve just had your first hate comment or a negative email…
Or if it’s been happening for a while and it brings you down every time…

Another thing I wanted to add, is that when you receive these kinds of comments, you block, delete and get rid of them.
I’ve spoken to some business owners who don’t believe in deleting comments, for authenticity I guess?
I block and delete.

Because if someone came up to your shopfront and graffitied horrific words all over it, would you leave them up because it’s someone’s opinion that needs to be respected?
You would wash those walls and get it down, and the same applies to your social accounts that are basically your virtual shop front.

Another tip on how to deal with haters is to set up walls.
Don’t give your phone number out in a public place like Facebook…
If you have a team around you, ask someone to filter your public email account before you jump in it.
(This is a smart way to protect your time and make sure you stay focussed on the tasks that only you can do too.)
And if you don’t yet have a team, well, just take it in your stride because when you have an audience, there will almost always be some hate.
I know it’s easier said than done.
Sure, today I brush hate off… but I used to really take it to heart.
Until one day, when as I was reading a particularly upsetting comment, my sister glanced over my shoulder and started to laugh.
Kinda shocked, I turned around and asked her how she could find it funny?!
Like here I was… crushed….
And she was laughing?!
She pointed out that this hater didn’t know me personally. So it wasn’t personal.
And I’ve followed this advice since 🙂
So lovely lady, if hate comments start to come through, please know that you have a worthy mission and a Genius Zone to share. And there are many people who need to hear from you.
Don’t let a hater stop you. Block, delete and delegate it to someone else.
And remember, it can’t be personal because they don’t know you personally.
